    Measurements

We make your blinds to your exact measurements. The type of window you have and where you’ll be fixing your blind will determine where you should measure from – we’ve created a handy little guide for you to follow you can find by clicking here.

N.B. The width measurement includes a 1.5-2cm gap on each side between the fabric roll and the fitting brackets. If you want the fabric to be a  specific width please add 4cm to the blind’s width or call us for more information.

    Installation height

To comply with child safety legislation we require your installation height to ensure your chain is a safe distance (at least 1.5m) from the floor. To work out the installation height, just take the measurement from the floor to the top of where the blind will be.

    Choose a lining type

Our roller blinds are available with either plain or blackout lining – it’s bonded to the back of your chosen fabric to keep it firm enough to use, without the need for coating anything in a plastic. Plain lining will still let through a little bit of light whereas the blackout lining will block out 100% of light.

    Chain position

Our roller blinds are operated by a sidewinder mechanism with an endless cord system. Pulling the looped chrome chain secures the position of the blind. All you need to decide is whether you’d prefer the mechanism on the left or right hand side of your blind.

There is more information about the roller blind mechanism here.

    Roll type

On a standard roll, the fabric rolls off the back of the roll nearest the window pane, with the lining showing on the blind barrel. We recommend you choose a standard roll if you’re concerned about light filtering into the room around the sides of the blind.

On a reverse roll, the fabric rolls off the front of the roll with the fabric showing on the blind barrel. The front of the blind is approximately 6cm from the window pane. This is not suitable if you are concerned about light filtering into the room around the sides of the blind.
