Reminiscent of palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze, Alvaro is a lovely painterly design that`s digitally printed on a 100% cotton satin. The fresh, white ground contrasts beautifully with the subtle highlight tones of layered leaves, opening up a decorating story with the introduction of new colour.

    Measurements

We make your blinds to your exact measurements. The type of window you have and where you’ll be fixing your blind will determine where you should measure from – we’ve created a handy little guide for you to follow you can find by clicking here.

    Installation height

To comply with child safety legislation we require your installation height to ensure your chain is a safe distance (at least 1.5m) from the floor. To work out the installation height, just take the measurement from the floor to the top of where the blind will be.

    Choose a lining type

No lining If you’re looking for something light and delicate you might consider an unlined blind. Go for this option if you’re using a lightweight linen or cotton.

Standard Our standard lining is a pale cotton fabric. It gives some additional weight to your blind to help it hang well but still allows light to filter through.

Extra thick thermal This is a thick lining, designed to simulate interlining, at a fraction of the cost. The outer side is smooth and the other (on the inside) is woolly. This provides more insulation than cotton lining and allows less light to penetrate without blocking the light completely. Due to its extra weight, it helps your blind hang well and look fuller.

Lined and interlined If you’re looking for a classic, full and plump blind with optimum insulation, then choose interlining. A separate layer of natural cotton domette sits between your fabric and the outer lining to help keep your home warm.

You can read more about our linings here.

    Blackout Lining

All of our lining options are available in blackout to block out all light. Blackout lining is just a little bit heavier and acts as a thermal insulator to keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer. Blackout lining is a pale cream colour to suit your fabric perfectly.

N.B. The rods on the back of the blind are inserted into pockets and stitched to the lining and face fabric. Therefore you will find that “pin pricks” of light filter through the blind, even when blackout lining is used, if there is strong light behind it (e.g. during the day). This is not something we are able to control.

    Sidewinder Mechanism Position

We offer a sidewinder mechanism with our Roman blinds because they are easy to use and child safe.  A sidewinder mechanism is is an endless chain system. Pulling the loop of chrome beads secures the position of the blind. All you have to do when you order your Roman blind is to decide whether you want your chain on the left or right hand side.
